- How do I apply?
All applications are submitted online. You only need to answer a few straightforward questions and ideally add a CV or letter on why you would like to volunteer. Your application is then stored in our system.
As soon as we receive your application, you'll receive a confirmation email. You can track your application at any time by logging in and checking its status.

- What if I have questions?

- Will I be interviewed?
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to attend a face-to-face interview and conversation about the role with the hiring manager. This gives you further opportunities to find out about the volunteer position and Hato Hone St John.
- Do you complete pre-employment checks?
For all our volunteer positions you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks as part of the process. These could include: police and criminal record checks, a medical, driver and /or credit check.
- Do I need to provide references?
You’ll be asked to provide referees who can confirm your background and experience. Ideally, they should be managers you have reported to in your recent career history. If you don't have a recent manager you can provide a character reference.
- When can I start?
Once we have completed all the steps above and you have signed a volunteer agreement we will welcome you to Hato Hone St John. We’ll let you know when to start and provide all the training you need to become a valuable member of the team.
